Learn about the inner workings of auction houses and art fairs, the benefits of working with an art advisor, and strategies for investing in art.

About The Panelists
Amelia G. Manderscheid is a Vice President, Senior Director in Contemporary Art at Bonhams. Based in San Francisco, Amelia represents Bonhams with a particular focus on developing the West Coast region. She engages with the collecting community and leads strategic development initiatives. Prior to relocating to the Bay Area, Amelia was a Specialist and Global Head of eCommerce in the Post-War & Contemporary Art department at Christie’s. She was Head of Sale for Andy Warhol at Christie’s, overseeing Christie’s multi-year exclusive partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. As the primary driver for this extraordinary endeavor, Amelia strategized and executed global tours and sales initiatives of iconic Warhol highlights, fostering client relationships and driving major sales through Christie’s eCommerce and Private Sales platforms. Amelia has conducted extensive scholarly research on Andy Warhol and is a global market maker for the artist’s work.
After successfully launching Christie’s Contemporary Art Sales she worked with David Zwirner Gallery on launching their Online Viewing Room and on related innovation initiatives. Amelia has an MBA from Columbia Business School and holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Art History from Wellesley College.
Adam Green, with over a decade of experience in the art industry, founded Adam Green Art Advisory in 2016. Adam Green Art Advisory provides bespoke services to new and experienced collectors including advising clients on acquisitions of investment quality contemporary art as well as locating and brokering important contemporary artworks. Additionally, Adam serves as the podcast host of the ArtTactic Podcast, the first and leading podcast covering the art market. Prior to establishing Adam Green Art Advisory, Adam spent nearly a decade working at Christie’s, the leading auction house for the art market. Kelly Huang is founder of KCH Advisory. She was most recently the Co-Director of Gagosian San Francisco, where she expanded access to contemporary art by providing opportunities for culturally-rich programs in the Bay Area. Previous to that, Kelly spent ten years as an art advisor with Zlot Buell + Associates in San Francisco, helping a new generation of Bay Area clients participate at every level of the contemporary art world while building and managing curated collections of art. She also has extensive experience in building corporate and public art collections.
She is the founder of the San Jose Museum of Art’s Contemporary Curator’s Circle, serves on the founding committee of 8-bridges, and is a Co-Founder of Artadia’s San Francisco Council. She also previously served on the board of SFMOMA’s SECA Council.
Sophia Kinell is Phillips’ regional lead for the San Francisco Bay Area. Phillips is an international auction house that specializes in 20th Century and Contemporary Art, Design, Photographs, Editions, Watches and Jewels—its core business includes auctions, exhibitions, private sales, advisory services for private and corporate clients, as well as museum and arts sponsorships. Prior to joining Phillips in 2017, Sophia was with Sotheby’s for nearly a decade, based in New York. A native of Palo Alto, California, Sophia relocated back home to the Bay Area in 2019 to establish Phillips’ Northern California operation, where she focuses on supporting a vast network of collectors, dealers, advisors and curators throughout the region.
