Asian Reflection on Community Connection w/ Chopsticks Alley Art
Join Chopsticks Alley Art and ICA San José for a very special guided meditation within our gallery on Saturday, June 18th at 11am. Participants will be led in a relaxing,1-hour program including a special flute performance, a short introduction on Asian perspectives on community connection, and a group meditation.
In most Asian cultures, collectivism comes naturally. In collectivistic cultures, individuals are seen as embedded within their group identity, and the notion of a separate, autonomous self is deemphasized and discouraged. In this discussion, we will explore ideas on how we could embody these cultural ways to make a positive impact for our community. We will provide mats, but feel free to bring your own. Chairs will be provided as needed.
This event is FREE and open to the public for all ages. RSVP below to get event updates. Drop-ins welcome.
