We’re open till 10pm!
On Friday February 7th, visit the ICA and explore the variety of artistic mediums in our current winter exhibitions Clive McCarthy: Electric Paintings and Stas Orlovski: Chimera.
Experiment with photo transfers, collage, and the painterly styles of Clive McCarthy’s work through hands-on projects.
Mingle with artist Clive McCarthy as he presents new works for his exhibition Electric Paintings. McCarthy’s large scale projections are wrought with painterly gestures like brush strokes and thick dabs of color that are derived from photographic base images which are then “painted” in random sequences in his program. Visitors will be able to walk through these large projected “paintings” which move and rework themselves into innumerable moving images continuously over time. With every visit to McCarthy’s exhibition, visitors will see a new iteration of a painting.
Your photos can become art at the ICA! Before February 1 tag the ICA on Instagram or Facebook @SanJoseICA and use tag #ElectricPaintings and your photos will be used in one of McCarthy’s projections!
