The ICA San José is excited to offer the ICA Social Club: A Master Class in Collecting Contemporary Art. Participants receive “behind the scenes” access to experts and leaders in all aspects of the Contemporary Art ecosystem. After a series of exciting conversations and happy-hours, our private 8-class program culminates with a chance to put your collecting skills to work at the Social Club Auction Event on April 24th. We’ll connect you directly with some of the most important artists of today though this educational series. Social Club members receive access to all programming, a private link to event recordings, tickets to the Social Club Auction Event and more! Week of April 12 and April 19 – Private Art Advising and Small-group walkthroughs to be scheduled. (Available for Contemporary Collectors Level ($1500) and above. This benefit may be virtual or in-person as Covid restrictions permit.)

The ICA Social Club will convene as a casual, bi-weekly gathering of members to connect with artists and art-world experts from all over the globe, discuss the evolving perspectives of the art world on what it means to be a collector, and enjoy sipping signature spirits with great company. In true seminar style, participants can choose to delve into course material through some non-compulsory, deep-dive learning opportunities and small group discussions.
Thanks to a generous gift from Pamela and David Hornik, artists are now given complimentary access to all ICA Social Club events based on availability.
Access to this programming along with tickets to our virtual auction will be available to our members at the Collector ($250) level and above. Contemporary Collectors level ($1500) and above will enjoy early access to view auction artworks through private viewing and art advising sessions with Curator and Director of Public Programs, Christine Koppes and Executive Director and Chief Curator, Alison Gass. Additional special artist access and experiences will be provided beginning at Contemporary Collectors Circle ($2500) and Director’s Circle ($5,000).
