Guadalupe River Bike Tour

A Short Bike tour of the Guadalupe River Park with artist Jenny Odell.

The bike tour spans the length of the Guadalupe River Park in downtown San Jose. Its seven stops are designed to invite reflection on layers of the cultural, infrastructural, and natural history of San Jose, specifically as experienced from a bike. As a supplement to the  trail, the tour collects images and information on urban redevelopment, public art, indigenous history, engineering for flood control, the orchard era, and native plant communities. The tour begins at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art and ends at the San Jose International Airport, with an opportunity to consider the most heavily mediated form of travel (flight) from the least mediated (a bike).
